DEGREE OF COMPARISON

› Degree of comparison digunakan untuk menyatakan tingkat perbandingan

› Degree of comparison dibagi menjadi tiga :

› Positive Degree (perbandingan setara)

› Comparative Degree (perbandingan lebih)

› Superlative Degree (perbandngan paling)

› Positive Degree (perbandingan setara)

›  Rumus I :

...as(adjective)as..

 

Example :

Ø Dea setinggi Dita

Dea is as tall as Dita

Ø Rumahku sebesar rumahmu

My house is as big as your house

Rumus II :

....so (adjective) as...

› Example :

› Dea tidak setinggi Dita

› Dea is not so tall as Dita

Toni tidak segemuk widi

Toni is not so fat as widi

Comparative Degree (perbandingan lebih )

› Rumus I :

› Untuk adjective kata bersuku kata 1-2

› Example

› Dea lebih tinggi dibandingkan dita

› Dea is taller than dita

Rumus II :

more + adjective +than

 

› Untuk adjective kata yang bersuku kata lebih dari 2

› Example :

› Tasku lebih mahal dibandingkan tasmu

› My bag is more expensive than your bag

Superlative degree (perbandingan paling)

	...the +adjective + est...

 

Untuk adjective bersuku kata 1-2

Example :

Toni adalah siswa yang paling tinggi di kelas

Toni is the tallest student in his class

Rumus II :

…the most (adjective)…

› Untuk adjective bersuku kata lebih dari 2

› Example :

Dia adalah orang yang paling cantik di kelas ini

She is the most beautifull student in the class
